General Conference is THIS weekend! Are you ready? Are your kids ready? We watch/listen to each of the 4 sessions with our children. It's just what we do. And we really try to make it meaningful and FUN so that they look forward to Conference time when they are adults.

Is it just me, or do the printable Conference Packets get better and better each year? I LOVE them! I wish they had these available easily for us when we were children.
We've tried setting up little tents in the living room, bringing little couches/chairs down for the kids to sit in, but have found that a little craft table set up works best for us. They can work on their pages, color, eat snacks and quietly whisper to each other.
I printed out a Nursery Packet and a Junior Primary Packet. Between the two, there were 40 pages of worksheets and I think that's PLENTY! I've found that when I give the kids less at a time to do, the packets last longer and they work harder on each page before flipping to the next one.
I got these little caddy/buckets at Hobby Lobby for $1.99 each. They are great for so many things. Snack totes, art supplies, and now...our Conference Kits! And they are portable. We like to listen to one session of Sunday Conference at the church (the other sessions, we watch online), so these will be easy to pack up and bring with us.
I also found these fun little popsicle sticks that I think the kids will have fun coloring and making into puppets :)
Here is an example bucket for a 5 year old.
A Friend Magazine, 4 worksheets, markers, craft sticks, snacks, and lacing cards.
After the Saturday morning session, he can turn this in to me and I will refill it with new activities and snacks for the afternoon session. (It's more like afternoon/evening sessions out here in the east since Conference doesn't start until noon!)
I would LOVE to hear any ideas that you have on making Conference meaningful and fun for your children!

Hip, hip hurray for you!!! I printed out conference packets for all our Primary children and gave them out last Sunday but I hope the parents will go the extra mile like you show here. Well done. Glad to be a follower!
I love your little caddies you have for each kid. I wish I had a hobby lobby :-( Thanks for sharing how what you prepared for each kid! Fun idea!

Thanks for the link to print of the conference packets. Your caddies are adorable. I should have been more prepared. At least I can print the worksheets out before hand :).
I think I am going to go shopping! We always do the packets but like you said they flip through really fast and only do them half way! I love the caddy idea with their own art supplies and treats!
Those are so cute! I'm excited to print out a bunch of sheets for my 4 year old this year...I hope it will make Conference more meaningful.
It's great that you are thinking a little ahead of the game! I need to get on the ball like you are! Thanks for the help!
Great ideas here; thank you also for the link to the conference packets.
Those are so cute! We do something similiar, (although not nearly as cute). :) We just have a special box we call the "General Conference Box". For the first session we put various quiet actvities in it (such as a few pages of the conference activity packs, spirograph, crafts, LDS bingo boards, playdough, magnetic playsets, etc.), and the girls all get stuff out of it throughout conference. Then for the next session we change things out they have already done and put new things in. We usually have a little table and chairs set up for them, as well and also a blanket on the floor with some pillows if they want a nice comfy spot to play quietly with their activities. We also bake treats on Friday we nibble on throughout the weekend. When the weather is nice we usually go outside in the backyard between the Saturday sessions and have a picnic and play some active games together as a family. Then on Sunday we will do a picnic out back again but then take a nice walk as a family. Of course this year it's a bit cold so we had our picnic indoors. ;) We also always devote the family home evening before conference to learning about prophets. That's great you make it so fun for your kids. I know when the girls hear Conference weekend is coming up they always get so excited and say, "Yeah!!!" I just hope they will always remember it as a cozy family time listening to our dear leaders and look forward to it with anticipation. :)
So cute, we do similar things. I just love to see the excitment they feel watching/listening to conference. I love it! Thanks for sharing your cute ideas!!
